Care Quality Commission

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is the independent regulator of health and adult social care in England.

The CQC ensure health and social care services provide people with safe, effective, compassionate, high-quality care and encourage them to improve.

They monitor, inspect and regulate services to make sure they meet fundamental standards of quality and safety and publish what is found, including performance ratings to help people choose care.

On 18 April 2018, the CQC inspected Bilborough and Assarts Farm Medical Centre.  Unfortunately, they found several issues that they were concerned about.  We were disappointed to learn that we received an overall Inadequate rating.

In response to this we have made the following statement:

“Our priority is to provide safe and effective care to our patients at Bilborough Medical Centre and we have taken considerable strides towards improved clinical services since the Care Quality Commission’s recent inspection. We remain in direct engagement with the Greater Nottingham Clinical Commissioning Partnership and NHS England, to whom we are grateful for their ongoing support, and will continue to work with them closely to ensure our patients can be confident in the care we provide to them.”

We have also put together a leaflet for our patients explaining the changes and improvements we have already made, which can be found below.  We are committed to providing the best care to all of our patients and we hope you will continue to see improvements over the coming months.
